YETI 1500X Power Station Error Codes & Fixes

The Goal Zero Yeti 1500X portable power station can provide you with the power to run your computers and appliances wherever you need to. However, some failures with the unit can occur, which we list and provide solutions for below.

Error – Devices Not Charging From the Yeti

Cause:

The machine may not charge connected devices due to a number of reasons, such as a drained battery, a turned-off output port, or devices not rated for the machine’s output power.

Solution:

Make sure the output port is providing power by checking if it is turned on. The power button’s white LED light should be lit up. Reset the Yeti if any of the lights have turned red by pressing the power button. The LED light will then turn white after a successful reset. The battery may also not be charged enough. You can check the battery level by looking at the battery display. If the battery level is neat 20% or below, then charge your Yeti. Only connect devices that are able to work with the Yeti output port’s max power capacity.

Error – LCD Displays Temperature Warning Icon

Cause:

Using an appliance or multiple appliances that draw too much power from the output ports. This is also shown by the red light in the output port’s button indicating an overload.

Solution:

Disconnect the appliances and allow the machine to cool down. The temperature warning icon should then disappear.

Error – Battery Attention Warning Icon Appears

Cause:

The battery may be suffering a severe malfunction.

Solution:

The battery may require the attention of the Yeti product support. Contact Yeti customer support at 1-888-794-6250.

Error – WiFi Connection Trouble

Cause:

The WiFi is not connecting to the machine.

Solution:

Press the Wifi button on the unit and hold for 3 seconds. This will start the Yeti connection mode and the Wifi icon on the LCD screen will begin to flash.

Error – Machine is Stuck on Update Loop

Cause:

The machine is stuck updating, possibly due to a faulty LCD screen connection.

Solution:

Try rebooting the unit. If this does not work, then open the case and unplug and replug in the LCD screen, and the battery ec8 plugs.

Error – The USB Output Stops Working

Cause:

This could be due to a faulty USB output.

Solution:

Try rebooting the unit. If this does not work, contact Yeti product support.

Error – 120 V Output Failure

Cause:

The unit could be overloaded or show this error even when no appliances are plugged in.

Solution:

Try rebooting the unit. Then make sure the battery is fully charged. If these two solutions do not fix the problem, then contact Yeti product support.
