The Yeti 6000X portable power station is very useful in providing the energy you desire to run gadgets and appliances in different settings. However, this machine can have some flaws that reveal themselves during operation. Here are some of the most common issues:
Error – Devices Do Not Recharge From the Yeti
Cause:
Devices may not charge or work while connected to the Yeti due to the output port being turned off, a weak battery or the unit has a trip.
Solution:
Make sure the output port is turned On and the white LED light on the power button is lit up. A trip may have occurred on the unit, shown by a red light on the front of the machine. Try resetting the output port or the unit by pressing the power button(s). Once the machine is reset, the front LED light will turn white. Also, check the battery display for a charge greater than 20%. If the battery is below this level, charge the Yeti. Check the LCD display for any additional warning icons to indicate other related issues.
Error – Unit Overload
Cause:
The power drawn by appliances exceeds the unit/port’s maximum ability. This can be shown by a red light on a port’s button. There can also be a temperature warning icon present on the LCD screen.
Solution:
Disconnect the appliance(s) from the Yeti and check if they exceed the unit/port’s maximum energy output allowance. Review the Yeti tech specs to see the exact power limits of the ports. Allow the unit to cool down if the temperature warning appears.
Error – Wifi Connection Is Not Working
Cause:
The unit may not be connecting to Wifi so any connected devices are not connecting either.
Solution:
Put the Yeti into connection mode by pressing and holding the Wifi button for 3 seconds. The Wifi icon on the LCD screen will begin flashing. Use the Goal Zero Yeti App on your device to reconnect it to the Yeti. You can also check the Wifi strength using another unconnected device in the area. If the Wifi signal is too weak, check the signal source for any issues.
You can also try resetting the entire unit by pressing and holding the Units and Info buttons for 3 seconds. This will reset the machine and possibly solve this issue.
Error – The Battery Requires Attention
Cause:
The battery requires an attention icon on the LCD screen appears. There may be a serious issue related to the battery.
Solution:
Turn off the unit by pressing the power button and restart the machine. If the problem does not go away, there may be a battery problem that requires Yeti customer support. You can contact them by calling 1-888-794-6250.
Error – Temperature Warning and Low Battery
Cause:
The Yeti could be used in a very cold environment, causing the machine to protect itself by not charging. This can happen while using the Yeti outdoors while camping in high elevations or during cold winters.
Solution:
Place the Yeti in an insulated shelter to warm up and it will resume charging.
